I’m sitting at the gate of my flight back to Arizona (well, with a very brief stopover in Seattle). I’m nervous for some reason. This will be my first trip home since I came here nearly 2 years ago.
On my first stay in Japan, although it was brief, I got really bad reverse culture shock when I came back home. I’m nervous it might happen again. I’m not sure how I’ll feel, really… Honestly I’ve gone through all the homesickness (the roller coaster of “I hate Japan!” right back to “I love Japan!”) and now that I finally feel settled here… How will I feel when I go home? Will I hate it? Will I regret buying a return ticket?
Well, I’ll soon find out.
